Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh State Government has announced a significant step towards simplifying the process of granting building permits. From December 31, 2024, all permissions for building and layout construction will be processed through a single window system, making it more efficient and accessible.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister P Narayana briefed the media after a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat. The new system will eliminate the need for applicants to visit multiple departments, such as Revenue, Stamps and Registration, and the Fire wing, streamlining the entire approval process.
Additionally, buildings up to 15 meters in height will no longer require any special permissions for their construction plans, simplifying approvals even further. Narayana also confirmed that a full review of Transferable Development Rights (TDR) issues will take place in the next 15 days.
The Minister highlighted the progress of the Amruth-2 project, which is scheduled for completion within two years, and emphasized the importance of the P-4 system in advancing the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA). He also reassured that the World Bank loan for capital region works would be released in installments, with no delays.
