Amaravati: In a significant move, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has decided to repeal the Land Titling Act, a decision met with relief by many, including IAS officer PV Ramesh. Ramesh expressed his gratitude on Twitter, recounting his personal struggles with land rights.
He shared that authorities had previously rejected his father’s patta bhoomi mutation, and documents sent to the RDO were returned. He highlighted that land rights were often denied before the law’s enactment, raising concerns about its impact on common citizens.
Responding to recent comments from CM Jagan Mohan Reddy praising the Land Titling Act, Ramesh argued with evidence that the Act is unnecessary in its current form in Andhra Pradesh. He noted that NITI Aayog recommended its implementation only for lands lacking secure titles. Ramesh criticized the previous government for introducing the law without proper understanding.
