On Wednesday, Hyderabad experienced heavy rains due to which traffic was an utter nightmare and the roads were flooded to make things worse.

A news channel reported low lying areas like Bhagya Laxmi Nagar, Kavadiguda and Bhoiguda were inundated. While other areas like Taranaka, Gachibowli, Kondapur and Madhapur roads were jammed due to the waterlogged roads.

Due to the heavy showers, a number of employees traveling to the IT hub faced bumper to bumper traffic.

The good side of the heavy rains was the temperature in the city came down to 24.8 degree Celsius. The temperature recorded yesterday were five degrees lower than the usual temperature this time of the year.

Another news channel reported Banglaguda received the highest rainfall recorded at 8 Cm. Amberpet, Mir Alam, LB Nagar and Ramachandrapuram also had heavy showers.

Areas like Neredment crossroads, Gajularamaram Circle, Panjagutta, Malkajgiri, Kapra Circle, Nagole Junction, Santoshnagar and Salarjung Musuem were faced with heavy rain that in turn led to traffic jams.

On Wednesday, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported that it received 104 complaints related to the rain including stagnation of water, overflowing manholes, power outages and trees falling.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted and given a warning for heavy rains for the next 48 hours.

Director of IMD, Y.K. Reddy reported, “There would be isolated rainfall, at times heavy, across the state. In some places, the rain could be as high as seven centimeters.”

The IMD warning stated, “The upper air cyclonic circulation over northern parts of Madhya Pradesh between 1.5 and 7.6 km above mean sea level persists. A trough extends from Chhattisgarh to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and south coastal Andhra Pradesh.”
