An Indigo flight’s tire burst while landing in Hyderabad from Tirupati. The 77 passengers that boarded the flight were safely evacuated from the aircraft.
On Wednesday, Indigo 6E 7117 flight took off from Tirupati Airport at 8:50 P.M., and landed at 10:00 P.M., in Hyderabad. While the flight was landing at the Rajiv Gandhi Airport, the tire burst but the pilot managed to safely stop the flight.
The incident caused a number of stranded flights after the 6E flight blocked the runway. It took the airlines a while to get the burst tire fixed while six flights were forced to be diverted.
This was the second accident on Wednesday for the Indigo airlines. Earlier in the morning Indigo 6E 7204 flight skided off the runway while landing at the Vijayawada airport. The flight’s tail bumper was damaged due to the sudden skid.
