Today, the king of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein delivered a speech on the theme ‘Islamic Heritage and promoting understanding and moderation’ at the Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. Abdullah said, “We can’t afford to allow young people to be left without hope trapped in isolation and vulnerable to false promises of outlaw groups. Inclusion is the path to coexistence we need, we need to build strong successful countries, our strongest defense against turmoil.”
Abdullah further added, “Today’s global war against terror is not a fight between different religions or people. It is between all faiths and communities against extremism, hate and violence.” King Abdullah said Jordan is working globally for peace and the world is a single family. Though people are from different countries, everyone has shared a responsibility to each other as well as the future. Abdullah pointed out that everyone needs to spread the message of love and peace. All religions are united by humanity and the fight against terrorism is not a fight between religions.
The Jordanian King said people are separated by what they hear in the news and see about their religion. Different groups induce suspicions though they do not know about each other. Such ideologies of hate distort the word of God to stir conflict. Abdullah further added Islam is not about radicalization and it is faith that inspires India and Jordan.
