In a shocking incident, nine people were killed after a tractor fell into the Alimineti Madhava Reddy Project (AMRP) canal in Nalgonda district. The incident occurred early on Friday morning when a tractor carrying 30 agricultural workers plunged into the canal.
The workers belonged to Padamati Thanda from the same Mandal and were traveling to Pulicherla village. The workers took this route every day for their daily wage work.
The police and locals have so far recovered 9 bodies from the water and rescue operations are still underway. The victims of the accident so far are Ramavath Sona, 70, Ramavath Jeja, 65, Jarukula Dwali, 30, Ramavath Keli, 50, Ramavath Kamsali, 50, Banavath Beri, 55, Ramavath Bharathi, 35, and Ramavath Sunitha, 30.
