Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao made an admirable gesture and sanctioned Rs. 25 lakhs from the CM’s Relief Fund for an 11 month old boy. The baby boy from Gajwel is suffering from a liver related ailment.
The son of Hanuman and Maheshwari is Devasani Sriman who has been suffering from the ailment from birth. The doctors who treated the boy said that only a transplant will save him. But Sriman’s father who runs a printing press was unable to get the massive amount required for a transplant.
The Telangana CM’s office sent out a report that the Chief Minister had learned about the boy’s condition and immediately contacted Siddipet District Collector, Venkatram Reddy to ensure that the child gets the required medication.
The collector did as he was asked and got in touch with the boy’s family and enquired about the expenses required for the boy’s treatment. Venkatram Reddy was informed by the doctors of Global Hospital in Hyderabad that the total treatment would cost. Rs. 25 lakhs.
On Monday, KCR wrote a cheque for Rs. 25 lakhs and the collector handed over the cheque to the parents for the treatment.
