Looks like the government of Telangana is leaving no stone unturned to make Hyderabad as the most desirable destination for setting up their facilities. After tech majors like Amazon and Google already in line to build their biggest campus outside the US in Hyderabad, the latest company to build their facility in Hyderabad is US based Cab aggregator firm, Uber.
Uber started its services in Hyderabad back in January 2014 and since then it has witnessed huge success and growth in the Hyderabad market. And to further take this success rate to an all new level, Uber has now decided to build its biggest facility outside the US in Hyderabad, wherein it is set to invest over $50 million over the next five years.
“Uber will invest upwards of $50 million in Hyderabad over the next five years to establish a state-of-the-art facility that will house around 500 employees. Hyderabad was always the preferred choice. The supportive and forward-thinking government, deep talent pool, excellent real estate and high standard of living were key factors that influenced this decision,” said Siddharth Shanker, general manager (Hyderabad), Uber.
Uber has signed an MoU with the Government of Telangana and according to the memorandum of understanding the state government will work closely with Uber for creating jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities in the state.
“This is the first-ever time that Uber has entered into this kind of an MoU with any state government in India,” Shanker said.
