WhatsApp is all set to roll out GIF’s in the app for Android users. The networking application also extended the sharing limit from 10 to 30 media files. These features are also available for Beta 2.17.6 version for Android. This facility was provided to the iOS users in November 2016 and was expected to roll out by year-end in Android. Android users were only sent GIF’s if they have been stored in the device beforehand.
With this facility now, users can access Giphy library from the WhatsApp and send it to contacts. The option appears next to the emoticon option on the smiley window. This feature is expected to make WhatsApp more engaging. In iOS, the GIF’s can be edited to add emojis, text and be edited before sending. However, it is unsure if the same will be available for Android.
The previous media limit of 10 files created a hindrance to the sharing of files from one device to other. But now with the increased limit this will be an easier process as you can send all your files in one go.
