Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu emphasized in the Assembly that effective law and order is the cornerstone for investments and economic growth. He highlighted the critical need for a secure environment to attract industries, generate employment, and foster peaceful living.
Announcing plans to strengthen the police force, Mr. Naidu pledged to fill 6,100 vacant posts in the department. He also criticized the previous government for neglecting drug-related issues, stating that Andhra Pradesh had become a hub for ganja trafficking under their rule. He revealed that his government will establish a national forensic science campus to combat organized crime and cyber abuse effectively.
Addressing recent controversies, Mr. Naidu condemned objectionable remarks on social media against public figures and vowed strict action against such offenders. He also announced enhancements to the Preventive Detention (PD) Act to tackle spurious seeds, illegal sand mining, and the rice mafia.
The Chief Minister criticized the previous government for introducing the Land Titling Act, terming it unconstitutional and a tool for encouraging land mafia. He assured that his administration has repealed the act and will prosecute anyone involved in land irregularities.
Mr. Naidu reiterated that maintaining law and order is vital to achieving Andhra Pradesh’s vision of becoming a knowledge-driven economy.
