Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti has criticized the former BRS government for failing to increase power generation during its ten-year rule, which he claims has left the state in debt. He accused the BRS of misleading the public by taking credit for power generation projects initiated by the previous Congress government.
The legislative session, starting at 10 am on Monday, extended past 1:30 pm. During the late-night debate on budget issues, Bhatti highlighted improvements in electricity generation and supply under the current government, despite criticisms spread through social media.
Bhatti pointed out that the BRS government incurred an annual debt of ₹30,000 crore due to the Yadadri power project, which faced issues with transporting Flyash from the project. He also mentioned that the National Green Tribunal (NGT) banned the project in 2022, and the BRS failed to take corrective actions. Upon taking office, the current government addressed these issues and made significant allocations for the power sector’s development.
Bhatti assured that the Griha Jyoti scheme would be implemented for all eligible citizens and sufficient funds would be allocated to the Brahmin Parishad. Addressing concerns about the Group-1 mains exam, he explained that the eligibility ratio remains fixed at 150 to avoid legal challenges and delays.
