Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has postponed the hearing on a petition filed by YSRCP President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy seeking the status of Leader of the Opposition in the AP Assembly. The next hearing is scheduled for three weeks from now.
During the proceedings, Jagan’s lawyer informed the court that an appeal had already been submitted to the Speaker for granting Jagan the opposition leader status. Following this, the High Court issued notices to the Speaker’s Secretary and Assembly Secretary, requesting them to provide the relevant details.
The legal representation for Jagan also mentioned that the appeal was formally submitted on June 24. The High Court will review the provided information and continue the hearing after three weeks.
This development comes as Jagan Mohan Reddy, a prominent political figure and leader of the YSR Congress Party, continues to seek official recognition as the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly.
