Vijayawada: Labor Minister Vasamshetty Subhash has accused the previous government of a major scam in the YSR Bheema insurance scheme, announcing plans for a detailed investigation with vigilance officials. The allegations were made during the inauguration of the new Vijayawada Gunadala ESI Hospital on Monday.
Minister Subhash criticized the previous administration for neglecting the hospital over the past five years, leading to weakened infrastructure and inadequate medical equipment. He also pointed out the failure to fill job vacancies in ESI hospitals and accused the former government of misappropriating Central Government funds.
In response to the dilapidated condition of the old hospital, Subhash announced the construction of a temporary 100-bed facility and promised a new 300-bed permanent building in the near future. He also committed to expanding ESI coverage to all companies with 10 or more workers.
The minister further expressed outrage over what he described as illegal cases filed against TDP leaders by the past YSRCP government, accusing them of avoiding assembly sessions to escape questioning.
