Tirumala: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) vigilance officials in Tirumala have uncovered a scam involving fake Rs. 300 special darshan tickets. The operation led to the detention of individuals attempting to enter the darshan queue with counterfeit color photocopy tickets near the Vaikuntha scanning area.
The scam was allegedly orchestrated by a man named Rudrasagar, who facilitated the entry of devotees into the darshan queue using the fake tickets. Vigilance officials detected the fraud and promptly arrested those involved. Among the suspects is Amrit Yadav, an old criminal, who reportedly duped a man named Mohanraj from Chennai, collecting Rs. 11,000 for four fake tickets. The money was allegedly shared with Rudrasagar.
Preliminary investigations suggest that several officials from AP Tourism and Thithide Corporation may be involved in the counterfeit ticket scheme. The Twotown police have registered a case based on the vigilance officials’ complaint and are conducting further investigations.
