Kurnool: Police have arrested rowdy sheeter Borugadda Anil and brought him to Kurnool on a PTI warrant following his inappropriate remarks on social media. The controversial comments targeted Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh. The complaints against Anil were filed by TDP leader Gattu Tilak, leading to the registration of another case at Kurnool’s third town police station.
Anil, who had gained notoriety for his actions during the five years of YSRCP’s governance, had cultivated an atmosphere of fear, even reportedly intimidating the police. His behavior and online remarks were seen as part of his attempts to undermine opposition leaders and parties. In 2021, Anil was linked to a case involving threats and extortion, with Karlapudi Babuprakash being arrested for demanding a bribe of Rs. 50 lakhs.
Anil has a history of making lewd and abusive comments on social media and TV debates, particularly against opposition leaders like Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Lokesh. His verbal assaults included threats and derogatory language, even targeting women from opposition parties. The latest arrest underscores the ongoing efforts to address such criminal behavior in the region.
