Hyderabad: A lively debate unfolded in the Telangana Legislative Assembly over perceived injustice in the Union Budget, resulting in a verbal clash between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS MLA K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). The confrontation began when Revanth accused KTR of misleading the House due to a lack of awareness and questioned why KCR was absent from the critical discussion. Revanth expressed frustration over KTR’s comment suggesting that answers did not require KCR’s presence.
Revanth asserted his rise to the Chief Minister position through hard work, not through nepotism, contrasting it with what he implied was KTR’s reliance on “management quota.” KTR retaliated, suggesting that Revanth’s ascent was akin to a “payment quota” and criticized the Chief Minister’s remarks about leadership.
Revanth further criticized KCR’s tenure, accusing him of mismanagement and leaving the state with a debt of Rs. 7 lakh crore. He condemned the previous administration for severely damaging the power sector and failing to deliver on promises.
KTR responded by emphasizing the importance of ruling effectively rather than begging for resources, affirming his commitment to defending Telangana’s rights and opposing central discrimination. He highlighted that despite limited central assistance, Telangana has made significant progress.
