Union Minister Pemmasani Announces Major Central Funding for Andhra Pradesh Projects

Guntur: Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar announced significant central funding for key projects in Andhra Pradesh, including the construction of the state capital Amaravati and the Polavaram project. Speaking at a media conference in Guntur, Chandrasekhar revealed that the Center has allocated Rs 15,000 crores for Amaravati’s development and promised to cover the entire cost of the Polavaram project.

“A means Amaravati, P means Polavaram. The state government has ambitiously taken up these two projects, and the Center is fully supporting them,” Chandrasekhar stated. He mentioned that a new railway line for Amaravati, costing Rs 2,500 crores, has been approved. Additionally, an outer ring road for Amaravati, estimated between Rs 12,000 crores and Rs 15,000 crores, has received approval from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who also pledged support for necessary land acquisitions.

Chandrasekhar highlighted that Prakasam district has been recognized as a backward district, receiving special development funds. He also mentioned the establishment of two major industrial corridors in the state, with around Rs 80,000 crores allocated through various projects. More funds are expected through central schemes, further bolstering the state’s development.
