Tadepalli: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has voiced grave concerns over the deteriorating state of Andhra Pradesh’s education system under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. In a strong statement made on social media platform X, YS Jagan urged Naidu to prioritize student welfare and address the systemic issues plaguing the education sector, rather than engaging in political maneuvering.
YS Jagan criticized the TDP coalition government for significant setbacks to the education system within just three months of its formation. He pointed out a notable neglect of government educational institutions and a lack of effective oversight over colleges. The former Chief Minister accused government officials of focusing more on targeting political opponents and implementing policies that do not benefit the public.
The former Chief Minister raised alarming issues in government residential schools, where reports of students falling ill due to contaminated food have emerged, with little to no response from the authorities. Jagan criticized the government’s indifference, particularly highlighting that the Education Minister is the Chief Minister’s son, which he believes should have warranted more scrutiny and accountability.
YS Jagan also expressed concerns about the deterioration of essential programs such as the midday meal and Gorumudda schemes, which were designed to provide nutritious meals to students but have reportedly become ineffective. Additionally, he condemned the recent scandal involving hidden cameras in Gudlavalleru’s private engineering colleges, warning that such incidents could have severe consequences for students’ lives and futures.
