Andhra Pradesh: In response to Chandrababu Naidu’s allegations about the adulteration of the Tirumala laddu prasadam, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders held special poojas across Andhra Pradesh, as instructed by party President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The prayers were aimed at ensuring that any negative consequences of Naidu’s claims do not affect the people of the state and are limited to him alone.
In Srikakulam, former Minister Dharmana Krishna Das led the prayers at the Narayana Tirumala Temple, condemning Naidu’s political misuse of the sacred prasadam. Similar poojas were performed at various locations, including the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Palasa by Dr. Seediri Appalaraju and the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Parvathipuram Manyam District by former MLA Alajangi Jogarao and district president Satrucharla Parikshith Raju. In Paderu, MLA Matsa Visweswara Raju led prayers at the Ilavelpu Sri Modakondamma Temple.
In Tirupati, TTD Chairman Karunakar Reddy and MP Gurumurthy spearheaded special prayers, calling for the protection of the sanctity of Tirumala prasadam and denouncing Naidu’s baseless accusations. Former MP Margani Bharat held poojas at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Rajamahendravaram, while West Assembly in-charge Velampalli Srinivasa Rao conducted rituals at the One Town Venkateswara Temple in Vijayawada. Former MLA Ananta Venkatarami Reddy led similar prayers in Anantapur.
YSRCP leaders were united in their condemnation of Naidu’s comments. Dharmana Krishna Das described the former CM’s remarks as deeply unfortunate, accusing him of using Lord Venkateswara for political gain. In Parvathipuram, district president Parikshit Raju criticized Naidu for defaming the sacred laddus, while Velampalli Srinivas Rao in Vijayawada expressed disappointment over the political agenda behind the false claims. Former Deputy Chief Minister Narayanaswami also condemned Naidu for politicizing temple rituals, hoping Lord Venkateswara grants him the wisdom to stop such actions.
Special poojas were conducted in other districts, including Nellore, Kurnool, and Guntur, seeking divine intervention to protect the state from Naidu’s divisive politics.
