Delhi: Indian cricket stalwart Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from international T20 cricket following India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Jadeja, a key member of the squad, bid farewell to T20s after a career spanning 74 matches where he amassed 515 runs and claimed 54 wickets since his debut against Sri Lanka in 2009. His decision follows the footsteps of teammates Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who also retired from T20 internationals post the final match of the T20 World Cup.

“With a heavy heart, I announce my retirement from international T20s. Representing my country has been a privilege, and winning the T20 World Cup is the pinnacle of my T20 career. I look forward to contributing in other formats (ODIs, Tests). Thank you to all my fans for their unwavering support,” Jadeja shared on his Instagram alongside a picture holding the World Cup trophy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his wishes to Jadeja, praising his all-round skills and thanking him for his remarkable contributions to Indian cricket.
