In a major relief to Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Kadapa district, the Telangana High Court, has granted him anticipatory bail.
On the 31st of May, Wednesday, the Court heard the plea of Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MP, in the Y.S. Vivekananda Murder Case.
Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy filed for an anticipatory bail fearing arrest He skipped the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summons, asking to appear at the Hyderabad office for questioning.
Reviewing his plea, the Telangana HC reserved its verdict and asked the CBI not to arrest Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy, until the 31st of May. Now, today, the court’s vacation bench granted anticipatory bail to the YSRCP leader. The court said, if arrested by the Hyderabad CBI, the petitioner would be released immediately on bail, with a bond of Rs. 5 lakh. Furthermore, the court directed Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy to appear before the CBI when called and cooperate with the investigation in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy Murder Case.
Notably, in 2019, Mr. Vivekananda Reddy, the uncle of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was stabbed to death at his residence in Pulivendula. The major reason behind the murder is said to be the 2019 Assembly elections, in which Mr. Vivekananda Reddy was contesting on the YSRCP ticket.
The matter is being handled by CBI Hyderabad, who are investigating the matter.
