On Monday, the High Court will hear the Aam Aadmi Party’s appeal against the disqualification of the 20 MLAs. Arvind Kejriwal is not letting this set back stop him from gearing up for the bypolls.

The Chief Minister of Delhi on Sunday had a pre scheduled meeting at one of the assembly constituencies Najagarh. The MLA at this constituency Kailash Gahlot is one of the disqualified MLAs. At the met, the AAP Leader asked the residents to vote wisely.

Kejriwal said, “There should be no politics in development works. Don’t vote for us if this sewer line is not completed before next assembly elections.”
Due to the disqualification AAP faces the threat of dissidence. One of the party leader who did not want to be named said, “There have been efforts to break the party earlier as well. Now with the disqualification, the threat becomes even more eminent.”

He further added, “I have always said that it was God’s grace. He also knew that after three years these people would declare 20 of our MLAs disqualified. That’s why he gave us 67 seats out of 70 in the Delhi Assembly polls.”

The AAP Chief said, “They (BJP led Centre) have tremendously victimized us by imposing fake cases on our MLAs. They conducted CBI raids on me and didn’t get anything and today they declared 20 of our MLAs disqualified.”

The seats that are vacant at present include Chandni Chowk, Kalkaji, Gandhi Nagar, Mehrauli, Laxmi Nagar, Rajender Nagar, Janakpuri, Wazirpur, Dwarka, Najafgarh and Jangpura.
