On Monday, the BJP is all set to take power in Gujarat again for the sixth time. The BJP has secured 100 out of the 182 seats with Congress not far behind. Initially, the Congress took a surprising lead over the BJP, sending the stock market crashing. But then the Congress fell back and began trailing the BJP like every other Gujarat Elections.
Back in 2012, the BJP made an easy victory in Gujarat by securing 115 seats and the Congress managing to bag only 61. The BJP supporters already began celebrating in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani initially seemed to be losing to the Congress in Rajkot West but eventually won.
On the other end, Dali Leader Jignesh Mevani with the Congress’ support was leading with 6,900 votes. Although, the BJP is leading like the exit polls predicted but by a very fine margin. BJP President Amit Shah was very confident and repeatedly stated the BJP would win 150 seats.
