COVID-19 – China Despatches Medical Kits To India

On the 16th of April, the Chinese Government dispatched 6,50,000 Coronavirus medical kits to India.

Vikram Misri, the Indian Ambassador to Beijing confirmed the news through Twitter post, which read, “#IndiaFightsCoronavirus A total of 6,50,000 kits, including Rapid Antibody Tests and RNA Extraction Kits have been despatched early today from Guangzhou Airport to #India.”

The Chinese Government resumed the factories manufacturing the kits and started the export of the medical kits to other Nations

After a 2 months lockdown, industries are geared up with the production of medical needs like ventilators, medical kits to export and start the trade.

Two major consignments of medical kits were reported to have been sent to India from China.  The orders were placed to enhance medical facilities in Indian districts, especially hotspots identified areas to fight the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection.

The orders for the millions of medical equipment were placed on the 14th of April, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an extension to the lockdown till the 3rd of May.

Initially, the lockdown was scheduled to end on the 14th of April, but due to the worst situation and increasing number of cases of Coronavirus in India, the Central Government extended the lockdown.

Mr. Misri said, “I think facilitation of our needs and our requirements in a timely manner, in a smooth manner, on a predictable timeline at prices that are stable and orderly, would be the best signal possible to send for the India-China relationship.” 

India currently has 12,760 cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 426 deaths till date.
