On Monday, the Presidential elections were conducted in 32 stations across India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first to cast his vote.

This election had the highest turnout in 10 states and one Union territory of 99% with all eligible voters casting their ballots.

Anoop Mishra the Presidential Election Returning Officer and Lok Sabha Secretary General reported that the states of Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir votes are yet to be calculated and added.

Tapas Paul, Anbumani Ramadoss and Ram Chandra Hansdah members of the Parliament did not cast their votes. While, Sikkin MLA, Sher Bahadur Subedi and DMK chief M. Karunanidhi were unable to vote due to health issues.

BJP MLA from Sasaram I Bihar, Chhedi Paswan was not allowed to vote as his election was declared invalid by the High Court last year.

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha both have two vacant seats due to which one MP was not allowed to vote. The election process gave eligibility to 771 MPs to vote in the election.

Among the 771 MPs, 42 MPs cast their votes at West Bengal Assembly while the 714 votes in Parliament.

By Monday evening, nine State Assemblies ballot boxes reached Delhi and the remaining are expected to reach the National capital by Tuesday that are being transported by air.

On July 20th at 11 A.M., the counting of the votes will begin.

The calculations done showed Uttar Pradesh had the most number of votes with 208 while Sikkim Assembly had the lowest of just seven.
