Militants have been holed up in a house in Rafiabad of Baramulla in Kashmir. Exchange of fire is underway between these militants and security forces.
The gunfight ensued in Pazalpora village in Sopore township of Baramulla on Wednesday morning. The police said that there are at least two militants in the house.
police received intelligence inputs about suspected presence of militants in the area. The police immediately started a cordon and search on Tuesday night following the input. The search was halted for the night, but the police kept cordon in order to stop militants from escaping.
The search operation were resumed in the morning, which led to the gun battle as soon as militants opened fire on the forces. Officials said the firing was responded to immediately.
