With lifelike wax figurines of icons, Madame Tussauds is all set to open its first major branch in our country. This museum based in London has some major branches across major cities in the world. To the surprise of many, they are all set to open their 22nd branch in New Delhi in 2017. Opening at Regal Cinema Complex located in Connaught Place, this will pay an homage to A-list Bollywood and Hollywood.

If reports are to be believed, they will host legendary icons like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar and reality TV star Kim Kardashian West to woo the attention at Madame Tussauds newest branch. This branch is all set to make its debut by mid-2017.

The Chief New Openings Manager of Merlin Entertainments, John Jakobsen said: “We are delighted to be announcing that our 22nd Madame Tussauds Attraction will be opening in Delhi. Ever since we introduced Amitabh Bachchan as the first Bollywood figure in Madame Tussauds London in 2000, we have seen how Madame Tussauds appeals to the Indian consumer and having a permanent attraction in the heart of the country’s capital made perfect sense for the evolution of the Madame Tussauds story.”

The museum allows closer access to the wax figurines and guests will get to access in ‘Highly themed and immersive environments.’ John Jakobsen added, “In order to bring the attraction to life, we worked with a host of local experts to ensure an authentic visitor experience — truly bringing to life the color and vibrancy that encapsulates the essence of India. We have no doubt that locals and visitors alike will relish in meeting their heroes in a way that only Madame Tussauds can offer.”

Well, lets hope that this is only the beginning of many good things that India will hold platform to in the future!
