On the 28th of May, Saturday, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India and other political leaders expressed condolences for the accident of soldiers in Ladakh.
Notably, on the evening of the 27th of May, Friday, a vehicle carrying 26 Indian soldiers fell into a gorge near a lake in Ladakh’s Turtuk region. While 19 received severe injuries, 7 soldiers succumbed to injuries at a nearby hospital. Furthermore, on Saturday, the severely injured soldiers were airlifted to Chandigarh for better treatment.
Expressing condolences, Mr. Narendra Modi took to Twitter and said, “Anguished by the bus accident in Ladakh in which we have lost our brave army personnel. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being given to the affected.”

Mr. Ram Nath Kovind said, “Saddened to know that an unfortunate road accident in Ladakh has claimed the lives of some of our brave soldiers. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
In addition, Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India said, “Anguished to know about the loss of lives of our brave soldiers in a road accident in Ladakh. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. My prayers for the quick recovery of the injured.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress also expressed grief and said, “Extremely saddened to hear of the tragic accident with Indian Army personnel in Ladakh. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families, and wishes for the speedy recovery of our injured soldiers.”
