To everyone’s surprise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke the general security protocol during the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi. On Friday, Modi walked around and greeted the crowd.
President Ram Nath Kovind and the 10 leaders of ASEAN nations left after the Republic Day Parade. Modi decided to stay and take a walk from the celebrations till India Gate waving at the crowd. Spectators went into a frenzy and started chanting ‘Modi, Modi.’
Modi wore a saffron, red and green colored safa as he walked on the Rajpath and greeting the crowd. Spectators were filled with excitement and in the effort to get a closer look at Modi broke the barricade. The security guards struggled to keep up Modi as he made the crowd go wild.
The day was celebrated with a lot of fervor with an amazing show of skills from different professionals. Before the parade, Mr. Modi, Mr. Kovind and the Leaders of ASEAN hoisted the National flag. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu along with other dignitaries were present at the celebrations.
The officials had a multi layered security in and around the Rajpath. Thousands of security officials were deployed to secure the area. Nearly 1,000 cameras were installed in the Lutyens in Delhi. Army forces and paramilitary were also deployed to ensure security. The buildings on the parade route were closed from Thursday night till Friday afternoon.
