A Rajya Sabha floor leaders meeting is scheduled to be held on the 31st of January. The meeting scheduled at 5:00 P.M., would be chaired by Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
The virtual meeting would be held to discuss the COVID-19 spread in the parliament, the upcoming budget session 2022-2023 and several other key issues. In addition, the meeting would also discuss the opposition’s issues, including suspension of members of parliament (MPs) and the ruckus disturbing the functioning of the Parliament houses.
Notably, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister of India, is expected to present the budget 2022 on the 1st of February.
Ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament, the President of India Mr. Ram Nath Kovind would address both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha houses.
According to sources, the first part of the Budget Session will be from the 31st of January till the 11th of February and then the second part of the Budget Session will resume again from the 14th of March till the 8th of April.
