1. Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary: The Wildlife Sanctuary is 3 Km from the Pocharam Dam in Nizamabad. It is a small drive to the sanctuary where you can roll through the serene forest and gaze upon animals living in their natural habitat. The best time to visit would be between October and July.
2. Kuntala Waterfalls: Located in the Adilabad district of Telangana, Kuntala waterfalls is 261 kms away from Hyderabad. The best part about the waterfalls is the journey you get to travel through ghat roads allowing you to look at beauty from above. The peak season to visit the waterfalls is September to December. So if you’ve been planning a quick trip to a watery wonderland now is your chance.
3. Laknavaram Lake: One of the best nature loving tourist destination is Laknavaram in Warangal. You get to live in a cozy wooden hut and take a bridge from one small island to another to experience beauty redefined. The main attraction is going for a boat ride with affordable prices almost everyone can plan a trip to this picturesque place. The lake is open throughout the year but to see it at its full capacity September to January would be the perfect time to sail.
4. Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary: This sanctuary is considered as one of the most important ones in Telangana which is located in Adilabad. Only 250 km from Hyderabad the wildlife sanctuary houses the rarest of birds chirping through teak and bamboo trees. You can spot Sloth Bears, Tigers, Nilgai, Barking Deer, Panthers and Cheetals or Chitals. The sanctuary is also home to many reptiles like gharials, monitor lizards and cobras. The most blissful time to be here is between June and September.
5. Anantagiri Hills: This marvelous hill station is located just 10 kms from Hyderabad and can be your favorite getaway for the weekend. Located in Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy District has the densest forests in Telangana. The Anantagiri Hills is a beginners trekking location for nature enthusiasts. The hills can get quite hot during summers so, the ideal time to visit would be between July and October when the forest is lush green and mesmerizing.
6. Etunagaram Sanctuary: The oldest sanctuary in Telangana is located in Warangal. The sanctuary is a beautiful places with valleys that flow in the Godavari river. The best part of this sanctuary is you can take a walk through the woods and come across tree fossils and caves. The best time to take a trip down to this scenic beauty is October to April.
