On Sunday, the Committee of Administrators (COA) for BCCI prohibited the ex-officials of Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPLGC) from attending the IPL auction in Bengaluru on Monday. In the diktat, the COA issued that, BCCI former vice-president CK Khurana, Anirudh Chowdary the treasurer and Amitabh Choudary the Joint Secretary are not allowed to attend the IPL auctions. This is as the Supreme Court is yet to pass a judgment on the cases registered against them.

This situation of Rajiv Shukla, the IPL Commissioner, and Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association President, is as yet unknown. According to the BCCI sources, Hemang Amin, an associate of the Indian Premier League from 2010, has already been ordered to take the charge of all necessary arrangements for IPL by the COA.

The COA has not passed any issue on whether or not the other members of GC can attend the auction or not and left it to them for interpretation. They said, “Only those office-bearers who aren’t disqualified with regard to the orders issued by the Apex Court are entitled to attend the auction.”

But they made it clear in the mail that Shukla who has taken care of UPCA for a decade will not be any more part of the BCCI politics.

According to the decision taken by the COA, Sourav Ganguly, the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and Joint Secretary of Mumbai Cricket Association P.V. Shetty are the only two present IPLGC members that are eligible to attend the IPL auction on Monday.
