Going into the details, the former India Batsman, 42,asked help from his fans on social media after appearing to get stuck in Great Haseley, near Oxford, on Saturday afternoon.

A series of pictures were posted by him for his more than seven million fans on Twitter and Instagram, showing him casually dressed at a rural bus stop, accompanied by the message: “In Great Haseley, Oxfordshire. Missed the last bus, can anyone give me a lift??” The message was retweeted more than 400 times and he was deluged with messages and offers of help.
