I thought of giving up the game- Yuvraj Singh!

Yuvraj Singh celebrates his century in the second One-Day International against England in Cuttack on Thursday.

Yuvraj Singh has never been the one to hide his emotions. In a literal sense, he wears his heart on his sleeve. On Thursday, Yuvraj broke his highest individual score in any ODI, by scoring 150 runs. After this achievement, Yuvraj spoke to the press and said that he almost gave up the game after being dropped from the team.

In April 2012, Yuvraj Singh was diagnosed with cancer, a tumor in his left lung turned cancerous for which Yuvraj underwent Chemotherapy. Speaking about his battle with cancer and its aftermath, he said, “When I came back from cancer it was hard work. I was not performing and after being dropped I thought (about) whether I wanted to continue or not.” He also added that his hard work was the one that had changed his fortune. He said, “I don’t read newspapers, neither do I watch television. I don’t like to put too much pressure on myself. I had a good run in the Ranji Trophy, so was just waiting to make it count big.”

The 35 year old, Yuvraj and Dhoni have acted as pillars for India’s victory even in the past. Speaking about this he said, “MS and I we have previously won quite a number of matches for India. He has been an experienced guy and it was great to see the way he put it to use.” Yuvraj, showing the humble side, mentioned Virat Kohli and said, “Virat showed a lot of faith and belief in me. 150 is my highest.”
