Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit, took a dig at Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.

On the 20th of February, Monday, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Karimnagar Member of Parliament (MP) accused Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao of conspiring to instal meters for agriculture pump sets and throwing the blame on the Centre.

Addressing the media, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, “KCR government had written a letter to the Centre stating that it would instal meters for agriculture pump sets, as a pre condition for borrowing more loans.”  He added,  “It has been a practice for KCR, whenever there are elections in the state, to propagate utter lies stating that if the BJP comes to power, it would instal meters for agriculture motors.  Now, I will prove that the state government itself has written a letter to the Centre agreeing to the condition that it would instal meters to the pump sets for obtaining more loans.”

In addition, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar also criticised the State CM for claiming to provide round-the-clock power supply to the agriculture sector free of cost.  He called Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao a liar and said, “It is a blatant lie.  In fact, in many villages, nobody knows when the power supply gets disconnected.  The electricity authorities are informing the farmers about the disconnection of three-phase power supply.  Yet, KCR and his cabinet colleagues are indulging in lies.”

Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar said while CM KCR makes false promises of round the clock power supply, the Electricity Department of Telangana is facing a crisis and employees are yet to be paid their salaries.  The department is under the crisis of Rs. 20,000 crore arrears, which is yet to be clear.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar said, “The Government is not compensating to the Discoms for the free power supply.  The Discoms, which are reeling under losses to the extent of Rs 70,000 crore, are on the verge of closure.”

All the allegations and statements regarding the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government and the Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao was made during a press meet.
