Hours after the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023 was announced, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, took to Instagram and called it unfair.
On the 20th of February, Ms. Kangana Ranaut took a dig at the celebrities who won the awards and called them ‘nepo kids’ and ‘nepo mafia’ who snatched awards from deserving winners. The nepotism remark was said to be for Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, who won the best actor and best actress awards, respectively.
Notably, Ranbir Kapoor won the best actor award for Brahmastra: Chapter 1,
Alia Bhatt received the best actress award for Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Gangubai Khathiawad.
Disappointed with the awards, Ms. Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram Stories and called out on star kids. Furthermore, she shared her own list of ‘deserving’ winners.’
Taking to her Instagram, Ms. Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Awards season is here before nepo mafia snatches every one ka haq (right) let me clarify this year’s Best actor – Rishab Shetty (Kantara) Best Actress- Mrunal Thakur (Sita Ramam) Best film – Kantara Best director- SS Rajamouli (RRR) Best supporting actor – Anupam Kher (The Kashmir Files) Best supporting actress- Tabu (Bhool Bhulaiya) Yeh log jayein ya nahi awards inhi ke hain (the awards belong to them no matter they attend them or not)… filmi awards have no authenticity, after I finish work here, I will make a proper list of all those I feel are deserving… stay tuned … thanks.”
Ms. Kangana Ranaut asked her fans and followers to be tuned for a complete list of winners of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023, who are more deserving than the original winners.
