BJP Member Niveditha Reddy To Join TRS Ahead Of Nagarjunasagar By Polls?

Niveditha Reddy, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the 30th of March, decided to quit the Party.

According to the sources, Niveditha Reddy was expecting to get the BJP ticket for the Nagarjunasagar by elections. However, the BJP gave the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate ticket to Ravi Kumar Naik. The BJP announced its candidates for the by elections on the 29th of March.

Upset over the BJP’s decision, Ms. Niveditha Reddy decided to quit the Party. In 2018, Niveditha had contested on the BJP symbol. Confident over the BJP of nominating her as the MLA candidate, she even filed her nomination papers for Nagarjunasagar constituency. It is also expected Ms. Reddy would join the opposition Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.) However, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made. If Ms. Niveditha Reddy quits the BJP and joins TRS, it would be a big blow for the BJP.

In addition, along with Niveditha Reddy, Kadari Anjaiah also decided to join the TRS. In the wake of the same, Ms. Niveditha Reddy is likely to meet with K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the evening of the 30th of March.
