Ahead of the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, political leaders started switching political parties and changing their loyalties.
Recently on the 10th of July, Monday, Mr. Kuchukulla Damodar Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) decided to join the Indian National Congress (INC.)
On Monday, Mr. Kuchukulla Damodar Reddy said he would resign from his membership in the State Legislative Council and the BRS party. Furthermore, the former BRS leader announced to join the opposition INC after attending the inauguration of the Congress party office in Nagarkurnool district, Telangana.
The MLC said that he could not continue in the ruling party where there is no value.
The development came days after the two prominent leaders from the BRS, former Member of Parliament (MP) Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Mr. Jupally Krishna Rao, has been suspended from the party by its leadership for anti-party activities. The two leaders later joined the Indian National Congress in the Telangana unit. Now, the BRS leader Mr. Damodar Reddy is the latest to leave the party.
Meanwhile, the Telugu State of Telangana is all set to conduct the State Assembly elections in 2023 December. The prominent parties in the fray are the BRS, the INC and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
