Mr. Etela Rajender, the member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) openly challenged Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao to credit the Dalit Bandhu Scheme money to beneficiaries.

In the wake of the upcoming Huzurabad Assembly by election, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) launched the Dalit Bandhu pilot project from Huzurabad. Under the KCR Government’s Dalit Bandhu scheme, the eligible beneficiaries would get Rs. 10 lakh financial assistance. While the scheme was launched to benefit the Dalits of Telangana, the timing of the launch (at the time of the Huzurabad by election) is being criticised by the opposition, the BJP and the Indian National Congress (INC.)

Mr. Eatala Rajender, the former Health Minister of Telangana and former TRS leader asked the ruling Government to release the amount of Rs.10 lakh to beneficiaries’ account before the Huzurabad by election notification. He even alleged the ruling TRS of using corruption money for the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad.

While addressing the media, Mr. Eatala Rajender said, the K. Chandrashekar Rao Government sold government lands in Kokapet. From the money received, the State Government has launched the Dalit Bandhu Scheme in Huzurabad Assembly constituency. On the 16th of August, the TRS Government released Rs. 2,000 crores for the scheme in Huzurabad. The BJP leader said K. Chandrashekar Rao and his party is is fooling people, especially Dalit community people for their political benefits. In Huzurabad Assembly constituency, nearly 50 % voters are from the Dalit communities.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is expected to announce notification of the Huzurabad Assembly by election, sometime soon. The TRS, the BJP and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) are in the fray for the Huzurabad Assembly by election.
