The fight for the Huzurabad Assembly seat intensified with an open challenge of Mr. Eatala Rajender, the former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Huzurabad constituency.
Mr. Eatala Rajender, who was also the former Health Minister of Telangana and a member of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) open challenged the ruling Government to contest against him in the upcoming Huzurabad by poll. Mr. Rajender who would be contesting as a MLA candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) challenged the TRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao and his nephew T. Harish Rao, to contest and win the MLA seat.
Mr. Rajender said, “Let the CM or minister Harish (T. Harish Rao) contest the Huzurabad polls if they have the guts.” He said, he has the support of the people of Huzurabad and despite the attempts of the ruling TRS party, they would not be able to win against him in the Huzurabad by poll. He said, even if the KCR Government give Rs. 10,000 to each voter and launch the Dalit Bandhu scheme for political gains, they could not win people and the Huzurabad election.
The statement was made during a public meeting in Chelpur village of Jamikunta mandal, Karimnagar.
After the resignation of Eatala Rajender as TRS member and Huzurabad MLA and switching to the BJP, the Huzurabad Assembly seat fell vacant. Considering the current situation of the Huzurabad by poll, besides the fight for the Assembly seat, there is a specific fight between Eatala Rajender and the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. The fight between them started when KCR removed Eatala Rajender from the Health Ministry of Telangana over a land scam case. Following his removal, Eatala Rajender decided to quit the TRS and join the opposition, the BJP.
The Huzurabad by poll is scheduled to be held soon and the notification regarding the same is expected in the third week of August.
Major parties in the fray for the MLA seat are, the BJP, the TRS and the Indian National Congress (INC.)
