The counting of votes for the Huzurnagar bypoll started early in the morning, on the 24th of October.
As of now, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is leading in the Assembly constituency against the opposition parties.
The Huzurnagar Assembly constituency conducted its by election on the 21st of October. The major parties which contested the bypoll were the TRS, the Indian National Congress (INC,) the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
Although 28 candidates are in the fray, S. Saidi Reddy of the TRS, N. Padmavathi of the INC, Kota Rama Rao of the BJP and Chava Kiranmayi of the TDP are the major candidates.
As of now, around 10:30 A.M., S. Saidi Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate of the TRS, is leading with 17,400 votes after the 8th round of counting.
The Huzurnagar bypoll is very crucial for the TRS to claim its power in the State, especially after the Party’s recent unexpected defeat against the BJP in a few Lok Sabha constituencies.
According to the initial vote counting, it is predicted S. Saidi Reddy would be the next MLA of Huzurnagar.
However, the final results would be announced later in the afternoon, on the 24th of October.
