This Diwali, there would be no noisy firecrackers in Hyderabad.
On the 5th of November, the Hyderabad Police imposed a ban on noisy firecrackers amid Diwali.
The firecrackers which lead to heavy pollution and high sound/volume would be restricted in the City this year. The step has been taken to avoid air pollution and sound pollution caused due to firecrackers during the festival of Diwali.
Aajani Kumar, the Commissioner of Hyderabad Police issued a statement regarding the same.
In a statement Commissioner Kumar said the decision was taken considering the health and safety of people in the City.
In addition, the Supreme Court also issued an order and directed the State police and State Government to ensure restrictions on noisy crackers.
The orders would be in effect from the 12th of November till the 16th of November 6:00 A.M.
In addition, the residents of Hyderabad are asked to burst firecrackers from 8:00 P.M. till 10:00 P.M., on the occasion of Diwali. Firecrackers would only be bursted in open areas and not in closed places, public areas, main roads and lanes.
Any individual seen violating the law and orders would face strict actions by the Hyderabad Police.
This year, Diwali is scheduled to be celebrated on the 14th of November, across India.
