M. Mahendar Reddy, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Hyderabad, inaugurated a State level anti human trafficking conference at Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development (MCRHRD) Institute of Telangana.
During the one day conference, the concerned officials will discuss anti human trafficking policies and issues of the State.
Mr. Reddy said the Hyderabad Police will work towards solving issues pertaining to human trafficking, developing sensitivity, empathy and changing the body language of people towards the victims. People’s changed behaviour towards human trafficking victims can further help the Police catch those responsible for running human trafficking rackets in the State and convict them.
The DGP also directed the officials to investigate human trafficking cases with patience and take strict action against the main culprits, so that nobody attempts the crime again.
Mahendar Reddy said while recording testimonies of human trafficking victims, the Police should be alert and make sure the victim is rehabilitated so that he/she is never victimised again.
Mr. Reddy also released a booklet of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for police officials. The booklet will help the officials with the procedures to be followed during the investigation process or while handling victims of human trafficking cases.
The police officials of all the departments of Telangana were present during the anti human trafficking conference.
