On the 18th of April, Monday, the Banjara Hills Police is scheduled to produce the two main accused Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Anil before the Nampally Court. Prior to the court proceedings, the accused had been taken to the Osmania General Hospital for a medical check up.
According to sources, in the last hearing on the 11th of April, the Nampally Court granted judicial custody of the two accused of further interrogation and adjourned the matter to the 18th of April.
It is to be noted, on the 8th of April, the Banjara Hills Police submitted a petition in the Nampally Court seeking 7 days of custody of Abhishek (manager) of Pudding and Mink pub, and other accused Anil in a drug racket bust. On the 3rd of April, the Hyderabad Police busted a drug racket during raids at Pudding and Mink pub in Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Hyderabad.
While the Banjara Hills Police filed judicial custody petitions, the accused filed bail petitions in the Nampally Court. The petitions were filed to speed up the investigation of the drug case, in which approximately 5 people including managers of the pub were arrested.
Besides those arrested, the Hyderabad police named Mr. Kiran Raj, the son in law of Ms. Renuka Chowdhury, the former Member of Parliament (MP). The police are investigating the supply of drugs to the pub and from where it is being distributed and how many months or years, the people involved are supplying drugs in the pub. During the raid, the police seized 120 kg of marijuana, two litres of hashish oil, and a car, altogether worth Rs.35 lakh from the gang, which was smuggling the drug from the Araku Agency area to Hyderabad.
According to the source, the police apprehended Anil and Abhishek and two other accused Arjun Veeramachineni and Kiran Raj are currently absconding. In addition, special teams have been deployed in the search of the absconding accused.
Furthermore, a case has also been registered against Abhishek, the manager, who allows the person who registered themselves in a special app and supplies drugs to the person after verifying the OTP.
Meanwhile, the 7 days of judicial custody of the accused have been sought to continue a detailed investigation of the drug racket bust.
