Hyderabad is all set to get Asia’s largest consulate office of the United States (U.S.) The consulate office would be set up in Nanakramguda and is expected to be completed by November 2022.
The consulate office would be spread across a 12.2 acres site, worth an investment of $297 million. The new office would have 54 visa processing windows and many new features, certified by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC.)
Mr. David Moyer, the Public Diplomacy Officer at US Consulate General in Hyderabad, said, “In terms of number of visa windows and gross square footage, the compound wall of the new consulate office will be the largest US consular processing post in India and South East Asia. The United States’ investment in the new Consulate facility is $297 million. The site consists of 12.2 acres and the chancery building alone is 17,917 gross square meters.”
Speaking about the features of the new consulate office, it would use 81.72 % less water, 50% less energy, compared to non certified buildings. Furthermore, for the convenience of the applicants who visit the consulate office, there would be walkways, a large waiting hall, and an adequate number of desks.
