ISRO to launch 103 satellites into orbit simultaneously!

In February, ISRO is planning to launch 103 satellites into the orbit at the same time. The launch is scheduled for the first week of February. Though these will be launched at the same time they are planned to be injected into orbit at different locations, in distinct angles at different times and also separate orientations. The Indian Space Research Organisation will create a record when the launch of 103 satellites in one go happens.

According to the reports, all these satellites will be launched on one single rocket. The satellites will get separated from the launch rocket in different directions. Also the time and angle of separation will be timed so that these satellites will not collide with each other. The satellites will have different velocities while launching, which will relatively be one meter per second. Which means the distance between a satellite and the rocket will be 1000 meters after 1000 seconds.

Each satellite will be travelling at different velocities, one having relatively faster velocity than the other. Due to this difference in speeds, they will be travelling into the same orbit but without colliding with each other. While the speed has no direction, the satellites have velocity which makes them direction aware and stay in their orbit.

The satellites will be launched from a single workhorse satellite which is the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle also known as PSLV-C37. The initial plan was to launch 68 satellites in April-May 2017 which was then changed to 83 and now is at 103 with a pre scheduled launch.

Well, we wish the ISRO very good luck in their present venture and also for all the future endeavors!
