KCR Says COVID-19 Tests Not Possible On Deceased

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 9th of June, cleared the air regarding the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 tests on dead bodies.

Claiming it to be impossible, the Telangana CM said, conducting COVID-19 tests on all the dead bodies is not possible for the State Health department.

Mr. Rao said,it is a  rumour that Telangana Government is not  conducting rapid COVID-19 tests. However, Mr. Rao dismissed all such claims and revealed  the factual numbers of the Corona positive cases that are listed in the state.

He said that Gandhi Hospital, designated treatment centre for the Novel Coronavirus, has a capacity to treat 2,000 Coronavirus positive patients at a time and there are 1000 beds specially allocated for all those who need the oxygen masks.

Along with this information, KCR said that, there are only 247 patients in Gandhi Hospital who are getting treated for COVID-19. He also requested the media to stop spreading rumours about Gandhi Hospital.

Finally, he also made it clear that Coronavirus tests could not be conducted for all the dead bodies. On average, a total of 900 people go to death beds and conducting tests for that large number is will become an excess work for the hospitals. He also mentioned that, there are no such guidelines to conduct tests for dead bodies in either WHO nor in Central Government released notes.

On the whole, KCR also mentioned that, the Government is thinking to go to the Supreme Court on the present order of High Court.
