Mr. Ashok Reddy, the Administrative Officer (AO) of Narayan College, succumbed to burn injuries, on the 4th of September, Sunday.
Recently on the 19th of August, Sandeep, a student leader of Narayan College, Ramanthapur named Sandeep allegedly tried to commit suicide. As per CCTV footage, Sandeep came to college with petrol, he poured petrol over his body as a threat to college management.
According to sources, Sandeep, the Student Union Leader at Narayana College was insisting the college management waive fees for a few students, and provide them with transfer certificates (TC.) However, the management insisted students pay fees of Rs. 10,000 and get their TCs.
The matter escalated, following which leader Sandeep tried to commit suicide As per sources, while Sandeep was threatening the management to put himself on fire, a few petrol drops fell on the lamp on his backside at the Principal’s office. Soon, the lamp caught fire and flames spread, causing serious burn injuries to Sandeep, Ramantapur Narayan College’s Principal Mr. Sudhakar Reddy and AO Mr. Ashok Reddy. While Mr. Ashok Reddy died of burn injuries during treatment, the other victims are still undergoing treatment at the DRDO Apollo hospital in Kanchanbagh. Furthermore, the deceased body was shifted to Osmania hospital for postmortem.
