In a major fire accident, which broke out at Hotel Levana, six people died, as many as 20 suffered serious injuries and over 100 are trapped inside the hotel in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area.

On the 5th of September, a massive fire broke out and approximately 35 fire brigades rushed to the spot to douse the fire.  In addition, the Lucknow Police also reached the accident spot and are making rescue efforts for the guests and hotel staff, trapped inside.  

Condemning the incident, Mr. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh took cognizance of the fire that broke out in a hotel and announced free treatment for the injured.  In addition, CM Mr. Yogi Adityanath also ordered the Lucknow Commissioner and other officers to jointly enquire into the causes of the fire incident.  On behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led UP Government, Mr. Brijesh Pathak, the Deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh, reached the civil hospital, where the injured are being treated and said, “The state government will take full responsibility for the treatment of those who are injured, as well as the houses and families of the two people who have lost their lives are also listed. (sic.”) 

Meanwhile, the Union Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh also expressed condolences to the victims of the tragic fire incident at Hotel Levana.

Union defence minister Rajasthan Singh also took note of the situation and said that his office is in constant touch with the local administration.  “I came to know about the tragic incident of fire in a hotel in Lucknow.  I have inquired about the situation from the local administration.  Relief and rescue operations are on.  My office is in constant touch with the local administration.  I pray to God for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident,” tweeted Mr. Rajnath Singh.

Meanwhile, the rescue operation at the hotel is still underway.
