New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has strongly opposed the Centre’s proposed delimitation process, alleging that it is an attempt to dilute the political influence of southern states. Speaking to reporters in Delhi on Thursday, he urged Union Minister Kishan Reddy to raise concerns in the central cabinet, as the delimitation process affects the fundamental rights of people in the south.
Revanth Reddy criticized the BJP, stating that the southern states contribute more in taxes to the Centre but are being politically marginalized. He accused the BJP of targeting the south due to its lack of electoral success in the region and vowed to resist any move that reduces political representation for the southern states.
Tamil Nadu Hosts All-Party Meet to Oppose Delimitation
Revanth Reddy confirmed that he would attend an all-party conference in Chennai on March 22, hosted by Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin, to strategize against the Centre’s move. He also proposed a similar all-party meeting in Telangana to unify opposition voices before the 2029 elections.
He called on leaders from all southern states to unite against the BJP’s alleged political conspiracy, emphasizing the need for a long-term action plan.
